We recommend a maximum rider weight of 100 kg, including clothing, backpack, accessories, etc. to take full advantage of the potential and adjustability of the suspension. Heavier riders may experience an increased sag percentage.


The X is long and slack for a trail bike and designed for one purpose only. To make your ride smoother, faster and with more control. Both during a technical climb and riding downhill full speed.


A steep seatpost angle allows you to climb comfortably, keeping weight on the front wheel.

The long reach allows you to feel planted ‘in’ rather than ‘on top’ of your bike.


The slack head tube angle, combined with a short fork offset and stem gives you great stability and confidence yet still gets you through a tight switchback.

All sizes are given in millimeters, unless stated otherwise.


The X comes with a 12-speed Pinion gearbox. No more worries about broken derailleurs during a multiple day ride over the Alps, almost no maintaince needed. Our drivetrain is efficient and worry free.

Thanks to the absence of derailleur and cassette your rear wheel is lighter, you have more traction and better control. Both with the DS2 grip shifter and with the optional trigger shifter; shifting is fast, instant and precise.

The DS2 grip shifter is great for shifting a number of gears up or down with a single action.

Instinctiv’s trigger shifter combines the best of two worlds; it offers an interaction that is resembling a derailleur shifter with the speed of a gearbox.


The X is featuring our patented Puma suspension platform, like its bigger brothers M and R. But with a lighter air shock, a bit less travel, which makes the bike the perfect gearbox trail bike.


Small lightweight rockers, an upside-down-shock-mount, less unsprung weight, high quality bearings and the use of high load needle bearings in many pivots make for a highly responsive  layout. Although you have a much lighter bike and a faster climber, the X is extremely planted.

Climbing very efficient with a steep seat tube angle, a low center of gravity and a high 115% anti-squat ratio around sag.

Stand straight with your back against a wall and place a book on your head. Make sure the book is parallel with the floor and at right angles to the wall, touching the wall. Make a mark on the wall with tape and measure the distance between the bottom of the book and the floor.

Stand straight up with your back against a wall. Take a book and tuck it between your legs. Pull up the book, simulating the pressure of sitting on a bike saddle. Make a mark on the wall with tape and measure the distance between the top of the book and the ground.
